Tony’s a legend around here, always in trouble with the cops, but he treats me well. Whenever he gets out of jail his Mrs and mates throw a welcome home party – beer and my Chinese takeaways. Tonight it’s pork fried rice, wontons, spring rolls, chow mein and dim sums.
Tony loves our dim sums. Dim sums are usually eaten at yum cha rather than takeaway but he doesn’t know that. I give him our yum cha leftovers reheated, or hong, as I write on the order form. He’s happy. I’m happy. As I tell my kids, it’s all about keeping the customer happy.
For 100 consecutive days I will write and post a short story (about 100 words) incorporating a randomly selected word from Afterliff: A new dictionary of things there should be words for.
The slimiest of any given collection of dim sum.
