52/100 Days of Creativity: Outside

Kath mentally goes through her list: the house is clean, there’s plenty of beer in the garage, and I hope he likes the new lingerie I bought from Cheryl. Luke and the boys will be around tonight. Kids will be back tomorrow. Just before pulling into the car park she has a lewisham. God, she thinks, he’s been away five years and I’m nervous as hell.  She parks and waits.

Tony knows the routine. Always the same. He signs for his belongings and furtively looks behind him one last time. The guard escorts Tony to the gate. He walks out and sees Kath.

For 100 consecutive days I will write and post a short story (about 100 words) incorporating a randomly selected word from Afterliff: A new dictionary of things there should be words for.

Today’s word:
lewisham n.
The brief moment of panic between realising your car keys aren’t in your pocket and remembering that’s because you’re driving.

Tomorrow’s word:
huney n.
A lifer’s boyfriend.
