36/100 Days of Creativity: Dinner With A Stranger

Eva and her boyfriend Oscar were enjoying an intimate dinner at Makis, a new Captetown restaurant, when Eva learned just how dangerous Oscar was.

They were feeding each other morsels from their West Coast rock lobster entree when a zigler interrupted and Oscar went ballistic. He pulled a gun from beneath his jacket and insisted the zigler stop harassing them.

Frightened, the zigler hurriedly backed away with his hands in the air. Oscar fired a warning shot in the air and everyone ducked for cover. Eva watched, stunned. Who was this insane man thought Eva, and what will he do next?

For 100 consecutive days I will write and post a short story (about 100 words) incorporating a randomly selected word from Afterliff: A new dictionary of things there should be words for.

Today’s word:
zigler n.
One who sidles up to your table with roses for sale.

Tomorrow’s word:
skirling ptcpl.v.
Lulling someone into a false sense of security with small talk before you chuck, sack or behead them.
