16/100 Days of Creativity: Shadow and Light

Whenever Tatiana walks into a room all heads turn. To be fair, people also stare when I enter a room, but Tatiana always steals the limelight. She is the beautiful  one. I am the shadow of her light. She will forever be my oulton as I am hers.

When we are alone, Tatiana lies on her side so I can breathe and she always lets me choose the clothes we’ll wear. We are both blessed and cursed at the same time. Blessed to be alive and happy as sisters. Cursed to be joined at the hip, literally.

For 100 consecutive days I will write and post a short story (about 100 words) incorporating a randomly selected word from Afterliff: A new dictionary of things there should be words for.

Today’s word:
oulton n.
A person you get on with perfectly well but wouldn’t want to socialise with.

Tomorrow’s word:
shunnies pl.n.
Footwear belonging to someone else, temporarily borrowed for the purpose of carrying the kitchen rubbish to the bin outside.
