Some children seem predestined for their career path, others are not so lucky. My daughter was a voracious reader from an early age, but more than that, a collector and organiser of, not surprisingly, books.
We recently had occasion to sort some old boxes of her books which included numerous young children’s picture books long discarded by their owner – inside the front covers of them all was a name stamped in ink, also a paper pocket into which was inserted a hand made library card with all the details of the book, and the sister to whom it had been “issued”, when both participants in the transaction were aged at the most 7.
We were not at all surprised when our “librarian” daughter became a real librarian. Some things are written…
